she/they

Our experiences of ourselves, our world, and each other are the product of many factors. Our personalities, memories, fantasies, and bodies are with us in each moment in conscious and unconscious ways. Yet, when we feel persistently not right – hurt with others, uneasy in the world, not like our “self” – there may be an unseen pattern at work. The unconscious parts of ourselves and others may be expressed as thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and even sensations.

I practice psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapy through a feminist lens, informed by diverse concepts from the fields of education, philosophy, critical theory, and more. We work together to identify, understand, and change patterns all at once, by approaching them and all their interwoven threads with curiosity. I strive to offer a balanced experience that feels warm but not coddling, and challenging but not cold.

Since moving to Minneapolis from the San Francisco Bay Area over 10 years ago, I have worked with highly diverse groups of people in many roles and industries, and my experiences as both a transplant and a career changer inform my practice. My clinical interests are broad, and in addition to adults include adolescents 16+ and couples. I work with a variety of concerns but see patients especially often for life transitions and identity exploration. I strongly believe in the therapeutic value of negotiating difference, and am committed to serving patients across backgrounds with humility and integrity.
