Hello, I’m Jake. In my therapy practice, my priority is creating a safe, honest space where you can explore the contents of your mind. My particular approach explores how past experiences, relationships, and social constructs shape our present understanding of the world, the stories we tell, and the beliefs we hold about ourselves and others.
I like to approach things together, with openness and curiosity, in a way that allows us to examine them without judgment or stigma. By building trust and fostering open dialogue that is both supportive and challenging, I help clients untangle internal conflicts, challenge limiting narratives, and find an internal sense of peace, happiness, and contentment. I work mostly with adult individuals on a wide variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, shame, relationship struggles, and navigating life changes.
I hold a Master’s of Social Work degree from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. (with a focus on cultural studies and gender/sexuality studies) from Macalester College. I am currently enrolled in the psychoanalytic training program at the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
