I work with preteens, teens, and adults on a variety of issues, including sexual abuse, domestic violence, intimate partner violence, religious trauma, challenges related to neurodiversity, anxiety, and depression. I am also passionate about working with members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Treatment approaches depend on YOU, the client, and what works best for you.
We may utilize feminist and multicultural theory, EMDR, WET (written exposure therapy), psychodynamic approaches, or elements of CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), depending on your needs and preferences. Most importantly, I want to know the real you and create a space where you feel safe to speak your truth. If you are struggling to figure out who you are, we can certainly work on that, too! Life can surprise us, and I have certainly experienced big changes myself. Originally from Texas, I arrived in Oklahoma to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Oklahoma. Later, I went back to school to pursue a Master of Education in Applied Behavior Studies at Oklahoma City University and then a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Supervision and Education at the University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky. Recently, my family decided to relocate to Minnesota. I am licensed as a professional counselor in Oklahoma (LPC) and Minnesota (LPCC).
