Some people go through life believing they know what they want and yet discover a nagging sense of dissatisfaction when they get it. Others repeat old patterns and find themselves keeping a safe distance from their goals. Naturally, there are no quick fixes to the challenges like these, but with time, hard work, and an unprejudiced space to speak it is possible to evolve into new perspectives on longstanding issues and build new relationships with self and with others. I provide psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis and the treatment that I offer is one that aims for freedom, and one that refuses to be oriented by any concept of normality. To paraphrase Freud, it is what we have come to see as normal that should be questioned!

I work with adults addressing a wide range of concerns and challenges. My practice is to avoid reducing anyone to a symptom or a diagnosis and my priority is to listen to the many different aspects of each individual, including those that may not be fully conscious. My approach is geared towards helping you invest more fully in the complexity and uniqueness of who you are.

I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of Minnesota and I have worked in a variety of different settings since getting my master’s degree in 2007, including: outpatient clinic, short-term inpatient psychiatric hospital, long-term residential treatment center, and diversion programs through the court system. I am committed to being a lifelong learner and I became increasingly invested in psychoanalytic theory and practice starting in 2009. I have pursued training and attended seminars at a number of psychoanalytic schools and institutes since then. I completed the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program at the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society & Institute in 2018 and I began teaching in that program in 2020. I am currently continuing my analytic formation at The Colorado Analytic Forum of the Lacanian Field and The Clinical College of Colorado. I am a member of the School of Psychoanalysis of the Forums of the Lacanian Field.
