Elizabeth Bohun came from London, UK to MN on a foreign student scholarship. She stayed in the USA, completing her BA in THEATRE ARTS and her MASTER’S in SOCIAL WORK, at the University of Minnesota. She has practiced as a psychotherapist and family therapist for thirty-five years, first as co-owner of a small clinic where she also co taught and co ran the Grove/Sagaris internship program and within her own private practice.

Elizabeth is an experienced teacher, supervisor and consultant. She developed a master’s level course,” Women in Therapy”, which she taught for ten years at St Mary’s University, Minnesota: she also taught beginning through advanced Family Systems Therapy in the MSW program at Augsburg College in Mpls. She was a well-received teacher in SW England and the Netherlands where she taught classes on women’s psychology and development.

Elizabeth completed four years of doctoral studies in the theory and practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy at The Institute of Clinical Social Work in Chicago. For three years, Elizabeth studied in the New Directions program at the Washington Center for Psychoanalysis, receiving a certificate in Writing and Critical Thinking from a Psychoanalytic Perspective. For eight years, she was part of an ongoing study group in Klein, Bion and Meltzer with Argentinian training analyst, Robert Oelsner, where she learned to work deeply within the present emotional moment of psychoanalytic contact.

She is a sought-after psychotherapist, known for her expertise, warmth and directness.
She is a sought-after teacher, supervisor and consultant, known for her creative use of play, improvisation and role play, thereby making complex ideas and theories both accessible and clinically relevant.

She works from her home office in SW Minneapolis.

She is past co-chair of the Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program within the MN Psychoanalytic society.
She is Past President of the MN Psychoanalytic society
She is a current co-chair of Continuing Education within the MN Psychoanalytic society
She was a core member of the team that developed the Prairie Care Mentorship Program where she taught and provided supervision.
