Life is full of unexpected twists and turns – it’s hard to keep up sometimes!
From the beginning, we all develop behaviors, patterns, and coping mechanisms that influence our current experiences. When it comes to handling stress, loss, conflict, finances, sex, criticism, etc., we will pick up helpful ways to deal with our current situations. But more often than not, we are just trying to figure out how to survive the best we can; which can sometimes create more damage than not. So how do we navigate and regain control when it comes to being our best self for our relationships, our communities, and for ourselves?
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Communication Studies from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University in Denver, CO. I have been working with clients since 2019 and completed a variety of trainings/certificates, such as Gottman, Emotionally Focused Therapy Externship, Pragmatic-Experiential Therapy Couples (PET- C Levels 1 and 2), Brainspotting (Level 1), Healing Our Core Issues (HOCI/inner child work Level 1), Polyvagal Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I tend to have a calmness that provides comfort to clients, but also is direct and straightforward with a sprinkling of humor here and there. When not working, I love getting lost in a new book, experimenting with new recipes, basking in the sun outside, trying new gardening techniques, walking her Saint Bernard, and trying a variety of new hobbies (i.e. crocheting, woodworking, painting, refinishing furniture, etc.).
