she/her/hers

Hello and welcome! My name is Deanna and I offer individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults. My priority in therapeutic work is to cultivate a safe environment where you feel safe to share any thought or feeling that comes to mind. In our work together we will explore your feelings, relationships, and thoughts with the goal of deeping insight into your inner world. I believe this insight will help you make needed changes in your life. In addition to carrying the struggles of past trauma, anxiety, self esteem, or depression with us; sometimes we feel “off” and need help to understand the discontentment we do not yet know how to name. Together I believe we can identify the things you have not named and reduce their burden.

I also welcome individuals struggling with grief and loss. Grief might be one of the most experienced human emotions yet despite its commonality, it can bring an immeasurable pain and loneliness that we feel emotionally and physically. Grief hurts and we should not have to be alone in that pain. Grief is commonly accompanied by other emotions such as fear, anger, relief, or regret. Death of a loved one is not the only way we face feelings of grief. We may experience grief during life transitions, when thinking of experiences we have missed in life, and when dealing with our personal failures. I welcome you to bring those experiences to our work together.

I hold a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and am currently enrolled in a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Program through the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
