Claire Blaze, MSW, LGSW

I am a clinical social worker with a background in social service work and I bring a powerful enthusiasm for connecting with and supporting others through their healing and personal growth. I am fascinated by the human mind, the human experience, and the human spirit, and believe that true healing is achieved through authentic, caring human relationships. I am also a passionate advocate for social justice and believe that the forces of culture and society can have a significant impact on individuals’ mental health. I hold a deep respect for the trust that clients bestow on me and take genuine joy in helping clients to explore their inner lives.

I work with adults and adolescents struggling with a wide array of mental health issues including depression, trauma, and relationship challenges. In therapy, we examine patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating, and explore how past experiences inform current patterns. I follow my client’s lead in determining what kind of changes they would like to see in their life, and together we work toward those changes in a safe and supportive environment.

Prior to completing my Master of Social Work at the University of Minnesota, I worked in the social services field with formerly homeless youth, minors navigating the juvenile justice system, and adolescents recovering from sex trafficking. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Gender and Feminist Studies from Pitzer College in 2014 and spent one year in Stockholm, Sweden studying that country’s policies aimed at deterring and eliminating sex trafficking.

I look forward to working together to bring joy, meaning, and connection to your life.
